inspire Excellence

October
10th - 11th

Greetings delegates!
It brings me immense pleasure to welcome you all to the 5th edition of the National Centre for Excellence Model United Nations, 2022, which will be held on the 10th and 11th of October, 2022.

The past two years have been challenging for all of us, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, people from all over the world had to conform to online modes of communication, work, education, recreation, and so on. MUNs were no exception. While online MUNs had their benefits, they failed to replace offline MUNs in terms of the interaction and connections built by delegates and delegations. As we now leave the past behind and begin to move towards the emerging post-pandemic era, all of us are entrusted with a duty: to not just restore the world to the state it was, back in 2019; but to continue learning, evolving and succeeding as responsible global citizens in ensuring better standards of living. At NCFE, we believe that the first step in doing so is to discuss, debate and deliberate upon the socio-political issues prevalent in various sections of our society, in India and the rest of the world likewise.

The NCFEMUN secretariat has curated six committees for its 5th edition of Model United Nations: The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), the All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) which will be a historical committee, a Continuous Crisis Committee (CCC), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF); with agendas ranging from the present conflict between The Russian Federation and Ukraine to going back to the late 1970s to discuss the Third Indochina War.

I earnestly look forward to the lively, thought-provoking debates and discussions over the course of these two days, which I am sure will be an exciting and undeniably momentous experience for one and all: something that we, the secretariat have been passionately working for it to be.

Yours sincerely
Suchith Joshi
Secretary-General.
